Swim, Swim, Swim

July 4th

Emma and Daddy
Libby at the park

The girls being silly before bedtime Friday night.

For the 4th of July, we headed up to Davidson to hang out with the Wansley's and meet baby Tripp. We hung out and relaxed the whole weekend. The dads took the girls to a park on the lake Saturday morning while moms took Tripp to Super Target to go grocery shopping. That afternoon the girls played in the pool in the backyard. The girls enjoyed a popsicle before they went swimming. Once Emma was done with hers, she handed the stick to her daddy, and dove right on into the water. That evening we had a cookout. We enjoyed hanging out with the Wansley's again. Emma adores Libby. Tripp is a sweet, BIG baby boy!

Summer Days

With summer approching, I had visions of me and Emma going to the pool to swim and hang out. Well I took Emma to a splash pad last week and she was miserable. She cried, clung to me and did not want any part of it. So I packed us up and left. That afternoon I decided I would take her to the pool to see how she did. Once again she did not like it. All I could think was we are going to be stuck inside for the rest of summer because my child is afraid of water. I took her on Monday, and she made a little bit of progress. She sat on the top step, but she would not let me get in the water. Finally today Michael came home a little early from work. We all put our bathing suits on and lathered up with sunscreen and headed to the pool. Wouldn't you know our little stinker did great! She loved "swimming". She put her head in a few times and moved her arms all around like she was swimming. Unfortunately, a storm came up so we were only able to swim for 15 minutes.

Preparing for the big swim!!

Not too sure about everything but thinking about it.

Thinking she might scream at any minute!

And she loves it!!!

I was videotaping her for a little while. I tried to get her to look at the camera, but she did not even want to take a second to look at me. She wanted to keep swimming. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this keeps up for the rest of the summer.

Summer is here!

Emma and I have been spending just about every weekend we can at my parent's lake house. She really seems to enjoy it out there. She lets us know everytime a boat is on the water which is all the time. We took her out on the boat. She sat there mesmerized.

Emma checking out Doc's fish. She kept wanting to look at them. My dad was so proud of the White Bass he caught.
Enjoying some of Gigi's homemade ice cream!

Chilling on the boat!! We were tied up!

Grand Caymans

Michael and I just spent 5 nights and 4 1/2 days in Paradise!! Gibson and Associates qualified for a trip to the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman so we sacrificed and went downt there. Michael's brother and his wife also went down with us. We were treated like superstars from the minute we arrived. The hotel picked us up from the airpoart in a BMW. Everything was provided for by BCBS. We even had a $600 food and beverage credit daily. That seems like alot but we used every penny of it. Michael and I were worthless the whole time. We ordered room service for breakfast every morning except the first morning. After breakfast, I would head down to the fitness center for about an hour. After working out, we would throw on our bathing suits and sunscreen and head out to the pool. Once we had lunch, we would walk down to the beach to sit in floating rings the rest of the afternoon. We all lounged while the boys drank Caybrews and I drank Lazy Day Lemonades. It was a wonderful, much needed vacation. It is the first time in 18 months I have done nothing!!

The view I woke up to every morning!!!

Lounging by the pool!

Pretty sunset!

Grand Caymans

Eating at 7 Restaurant. We ate all our dinners here except for one night when we ate at Blue. 7 had wonderful lobster and steaks.
Every morning and afternoon were spent sitting by the pool. It was so nice to sit and read a book and not be on any type of schedule. Twice a day, I would enjoy a Lazy Day Lemonade. Those were the best drinks!

Our $800 meal at Blue by Eric Reipert. We were not very impressed with the meal!! Hope the Eric Reipert never reads this blog. However, the trio of chocolate I had for dessert was yummy!!!!

Taking in the fact that we had just spent $400 on our meal!!!

Lunch at Periwinkles! They had yummy pizzas!

Grand Caymans

View from my chair on the beach!

The Ritz-Carlton! There is even a left and right wing that is not in this picture.

We spent every afternoon lounging in these rings! It was the best! The water was a little chilly, but it was very relaxing.

Before dinner drinks!
