Grand Caymans

Michael and I just spent 5 nights and 4 1/2 days in Paradise!! Gibson and Associates qualified for a trip to the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman so we sacrificed and went downt there. Michael's brother and his wife also went down with us. We were treated like superstars from the minute we arrived. The hotel picked us up from the airpoart in a BMW. Everything was provided for by BCBS. We even had a $600 food and beverage credit daily. That seems like alot but we used every penny of it. Michael and I were worthless the whole time. We ordered room service for breakfast every morning except the first morning. After breakfast, I would head down to the fitness center for about an hour. After working out, we would throw on our bathing suits and sunscreen and head out to the pool. Once we had lunch, we would walk down to the beach to sit in floating rings the rest of the afternoon. We all lounged while the boys drank Caybrews and I drank Lazy Day Lemonades. It was a wonderful, much needed vacation. It is the first time in 18 months I have done nothing!!

The view I woke up to every morning!!!

Lounging by the pool!

Pretty sunset!

Grand Caymans

Eating at 7 Restaurant. We ate all our dinners here except for one night when we ate at Blue. 7 had wonderful lobster and steaks.
Every morning and afternoon were spent sitting by the pool. It was so nice to sit and read a book and not be on any type of schedule. Twice a day, I would enjoy a Lazy Day Lemonade. Those were the best drinks!

Our $800 meal at Blue by Eric Reipert. We were not very impressed with the meal!! Hope the Eric Reipert never reads this blog. However, the trio of chocolate I had for dessert was yummy!!!!

Taking in the fact that we had just spent $400 on our meal!!!

Lunch at Periwinkles! They had yummy pizzas!

Grand Caymans

View from my chair on the beach!

The Ritz-Carlton! There is even a left and right wing that is not in this picture.

We spent every afternoon lounging in these rings! It was the best! The water was a little chilly, but it was very relaxing.

Before dinner drinks!

Fun Pics

Kelley was babysitting some baby chicks for school. We had to go over and see them. Yes, Emma did hold them. She would squeal when they moved then throw them to the ground. Somehow the poor chicks survived!!!
Emma is just too cool!

Emma does not watch much TV. I have never pushed it, and she has never shown much interest. However, there is this one show, Jane and the Dragon, that Emma loves. She will sit there and watch the entire show. She really loves the dragon. I believe she thinks it is a dog. For some reason, the show does not come on TV anymore. However, Dada came to the rescue and found it on YouTube!!
Emma loves to have her back scratched. It puts her in a trance. If you ask her if she wants her back scratched, she immediately plops down in front of you for you to scratch her back. On top of that, she lets us know when she is done with her back scratch. We have gotten her to start scratching our backs.

It is hard to believe that Emma will be 18 months old tomorrow. She says something new everyday. She has started saying please and thank you and in the right setting. Most of the time she has to be prompted. She is a busybody!!!!. However, in new settings she becomes very reserved. Lately, she is starting to become more independent. She walked into Kids Care at the gym all by herself. I of course wanted to cry. Part of me is ready for her to grow up but part of me is sad to see her becoming independent. She loves to "jump" even though she never makes it off the ground. Everyday is becoming more and more fun.

Easter Egg Hunt

Emma and I hosted an Easter Egg Hunt at our house. Emma only found 2 eggs. She would just stand there holding them.

She pulled her pants leg up!! I do not dress my child like this.

Easter 2009

This year for Easter we spent the weekend at my parent's lake house. Michael, Emma, and I drove into town to go to Church with his parents. Emma was not too sure about the Easter Bunny, but she enjoyed hunting the eggs. She never even knew the eggs had chocolate in them.
